Probably you have already understand that the murder of 15-years old Alexis gave only the occasion for the expression of a social resentment which has been accumulated years and years before in the youth as also to the greek society in total –which helps us to understand also why the majority of the society seems not to be shocked, at least that much…, by the extent of the violent uprising which followed.
Social resentment as a consequence of the prolonged implementation of neo-liberals counter-reforms that decomposed the social welfare state (public health, education etc), the working relations (with an increase of flexibly relations, not insurant work etc) plus…
After that we have to note (very very briefly….) two things. First of all that subject of this revolt –I suppose similarly to all the other revolts…- is in a great extent a non organized part of the society (students, young proletariat as also luben proletariat of metropolis etc). In matter of fact when they finally appeared in the streets they overpass the organized left especially as far as concern the planning of direct action against the police.
Second, the crucial role especially at the first place –the first hours of Saturday night- of the revolutionary movement (which inhere a big part of the anticapitalistic left as also the anarchists/autonomous) who took the initiative of going to the streets, start fires, constructing barricades etc.
We have also to note that in a great extent this movement (the non organized peoples that come to the streets as also the anticapitalistic left) borrow tactical methodology from anarchists (molotof, barricades, shoot stones, destroys of enterprises –mainly the big, multinational ones etc).
About the prospects? If we don't manage to relate this revolt with the organized working movement (pretty much difficult taking into concern the extent of its bureaucratization) or even with the student movement (which is easier but not any more sufficient or even a step back…) this dynamic will leave away… Similar with the france banlieues and sarkozy electoral victory afterwards, or not?
